Jose Cuervo Tequila and Spotify has teamed up with The University Of Sussex to search for the best University music playlist in the UK.
Battling Universities have uploaded their best music playlists to Spotify and its now down to the number of votes to establish the best playlist of tracks
The playlists are now available on Spotify, you can also check them out at voteforourplaylist.com
Listeners can listen online and vote for their favourite University station playlist. The University playlist with the most votes will win a legendary night out on campus with DJ sets from Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) and Orlando Weeks from The Macabees all courtesy of Jose Cuervo Tequila and Spotify. It promises to be a night to remember for students at the winning Uni on Thursday 16th May 2013
Winning the competition and beating our rival universities will put The University Of Sussex and URF on the map so we need as much support as possible to help us to get there.
Throughout the course of the competition, you could be in with the chance of winning some great prizes just by voting such as Microsoft Surface tablets, ASOS fashion clothes vouchers and festival tickets
URF will be running an on air campaign in conjunction with Jose Cuervo Tequila and Spotify too so tune in by clicking the listen button for more opportunities to win ice cold Jose Cuervo Tequila for you and your mates to share.

The URF x

For the first time ever URF will be hosting the Student Radio Association Chart Show! Next Sunday (25th November) from 3-5pm we will be presenting the show, which will be broadcast on almost every student radio station in the country. For the first hour we will be counting down the the top 10 unsigned tracks students are listening to, and the second hour will cover the top 10 biggest hits playing on student nights across the country. We will be streaming the show every Sunday on URF from different student radio stations, meaning you can hear a taste of what other Universities have to offer!
To get in contact go to:
Twitter: @SRAChart
Facebook: /SRAChart
Email: studio@studentradio.org.uk
You can check out www.studentradiochart.com for more information.
Elections are compulsory for all members to attend as, with the Exec being so crucial to URF, we have to ensure that those elected are those you want to run the station. There are 8 positions on the team:
Chair - chair@urfonline.com
Station Manager- station.manager@urfonline.
Secretary - secretary@urfonline.com
Music - music@urfonline.com
News - news@urfonline.com
PR and Events -pr@urfonline.com
Tech - tech@urfonline.com
Production - production@urfonline.com
Positions on the Exec last for one year. Anybody is welcome to go for a role – you don’t have to have been part of URF for a long time, or be part of the team you would like to run for, all we need is enthusiasm. Candidates will be asked to make a 2-minute speech about why you think you would be good at the role, and what ideas you have for it. Being on the Exec is a big commitment but it’s fun, rewarding and great work experience that looks fantastic on the CV. Remember that you can run for more than one position on the night, but you will only be able to take over one position.
Please email any of us if you would like to know more about the roles, and drop by to any of the team meetings, which have the times here:http://www.urfonline.com/
If you would like to know more about the election process please email Sophie Howard at chair@urfonline.com. Join our facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/events/486189821425688/
Good luck!
URF will be running our massive competition to win flights for the rest of the week! To celebrate the launch of their new route between Gatwick airport and George Best Belfast City Airport, we’ve teamed up with Aer Lingus to offer one lucky student the chance to win a pair of return flights from Gatwick to Belfast. Aer Lingus now flies direct to Belfast three times a day, so if you fancy a trip to one of the UK’s most vibrant cities, just listen in to URF during primetime (10am - 6pm) for the rest of the week, and the flights could be yours! The results will be announced in Friday's Breakfast Show.
