To all,

Thanks so much for all your hard work this year. After we took over midway through the Spring term, we have been extremely greatful for all your help. This has enabled us all to continue on with maintaining a stable radio station with alot of potential. But...

Next year (starting with freshers week) we will be completely dedicated to achieving, as an exec, a direction for the radio station that is completely ours. We will be investing time, effort, and lots of money in creating a station that BOTH on-air and off-air is of the highest quality. We are going to expand and develop University Radio Falmer as much as possible.

Look out for further posts in the summer months about specific details; but for now, watch this space. And thanks again.

Basically we've 2 pairs of tickets to give away to Beachdown Festival at Devils Dyke 22nd-25th August. The line-up is fantastic featuring amazing acts such as Hercules and Love Affair, The Young Knives, Bonobo, Mr Scruff, José González, The Magic Numbers, De la soul, Gogol Bordello, Nouvelle Vague. And many more, the Brighton Stage being a very exciting prospect.

As promised here's the details for the URF day of fun on Thurs 19th June (Thurs of week 10).
Now, because it's written into our constitution, we HAVE to have a members meeting at the start and end of each term. As a result, that also means that Thursday of Week 10 is our members meeting too. Even if you don't want to stay for the frivolity of the games, I must remind you it is mandatory to attend the members meeting segment. It won't go on for long atall, we won't have much to say as we're at the 'doing' stage of the year more than anything, but it's your last chance to tell us what you want us to have sorted by next year. Apologies, as usual, to chair@urfonline.com. I PROMISE it will be short but informative.

So, 2pm, Lancaster House common room. And, hey, you might as well stay for the fun and games...

It's nothing too fancy but thought it would be good for us all to have one last get together. So from 2pm onwards come along to the field just behind Lewes Court Phase 1 ( flats 1-7ish) and Park Village (any
confusion on this just drop me an email promotions@urfonline.com) Bring booze, snacks, anything you want. There will be games like rounders, football, volleyball etc. so make sure you wear appropriate clothing! Feel free to bring anyone you want, don't have to be a member to get involved!

Thanks to all of you who voted for our new tag, it ended up being a very close-run thing.

What is obvious is that you all love a bit of innuendo, you dirty boys and girls (in your end-o).

So, what happens now? Well, with 23 votes, winning by 1 vote to 'are you turned on yet?', we will now be producing merchandise, literature and promotional material at the start of next year with 'we do aural' emblasened all over it in size 18 font!

Don't worry, we'll make any use of the tag tasteful, smart, subtle and cool.

Hey kids.

In an effort to maintain the ruse of URF democracy, we're holding a poll for the future URF slogan.

Whatever slogan is chosen will take the form "University Radio Falmer: This is a slogan" and will feature on some URF branded swag as well as on our promotional material.

We looked at what the other student stations have as slogans, and we've tried to be a little different. You wont see anything like "Soundtrack to your Studies" here.

The poll closes in about two weeks. You'll have to sign up to vote. It doesn't take two seconds - we promise.

it's getting to exam time where everyone's starting to get a bit stressed, so here'a something for you to look forward to!

As long as we keep this amazing weather on the the THURSDAY of WEEK 10 (19th June), there will be a day of summer fun.

Details to follow soon, but think of it as a general piss up with games of rounders, football, volleyball etc on one of the fields behind Lewes Court.

It's that simple. We'll all sit down for what won't be too long, and this will be a chance to hear us out on what we're in the process of doing as well as an open forum for you to tell us what we should be doing! It's gonna be really productive if we all put the effort in, especially as what we talk about in this session will have a massive effect on your station next academic year.

As we begin planning for our big push for the next academic year, we need your help as much as possible. We really want this year to be the best for URF in recent memory, so are really pushing in all aspects of the station. The rest of this term we will be planning furiously for freshers week and the autumn term.

This is your station, and we would love for that to come accross in our branding as well as the on-air content.
Every self-respecting station needs a good tag line; in previous years we've had things from 'Planet URF', 'your music - your station - URF' to 'radio to make love to' etc.

The new tag line will feature on everything from the t-shirts and hoodies, the website, new jingles and idents as well as on all new promotions.
In order to get across the name of the station more successfully, the tag-line will begin 'University Radio Falmer:' followed by the remaining text.

We will be deciding the final tag-line in the exec meeting, tuesday of week 3. So get your suggestions in asap to chair@urfonline.com
